Search on for Grandparent/Grandparents of the Year

The search is on for Donegal's 2011 Grandparent of the Year and organisers are looking for Inishowen grannies and grandas to take part. Cadbury Roses and Friends of the Elderly are also looking for National Grandparent of the Year. The winner will receive a family holiday, a generations photography session and a Cadbury's Roses hamper.

Now in its fifth year the competition will mark National Grandparent's Day which takes place on Sunday 25th September. The campaign aims to encourage all grandchildren across Ireland to spend time with their grandparents and say thank you for all their care and support over the years.

Grandchildren all across the peninsula are asked to tell the organisers in 100 words or less why their grandparent or grandparents are the greatest. More information and entry details can be found on the website www.grandparentsoftheyear.com.
