SEPTEMBER 2005
Tidy Town Results
Local Fianna Fáil Councillor, Marian McDonald has said this
week that there is "renewed enthusiasm" and impetus for
improving our environment both through the Tidy Towns competitions
and new youth initiatives, which will also tackle the problem of
underage drinking.
Marian referred to the public workshop in McNamara's Hotel organised
for Thursday 8th September, saying she was calling on all residents,
young and old, to attend this workshop which is designed to put
forward and discuss real and constructive solutions to this problem.
Marian McDonald, who has been involved in the tidy towns competition
for twenty years said, she had been heartened by this year's support.
"However, it is very important that we keep building upon the
natural beauty of the environment of Moville and surrounding areas.
I believe the young people have a part to play and with the new
initiatives that are currently being developed, we can really make
a difference to our environment while at the same time supporting
our youth". concluded Marian.
