Moville to host Derry - City of Culture & Clipper Yacht Race Event

Moville is to be visited in December by a high powered delegation from Derry to discuss how Inishowen can benefit financially from the city being awarded the City of Culture and the Clipper Yacht Race. The Moville East Inishowen Action Group is to host the event in the Caiseal Mara Hotel in the town at 3.30pm on Wednesday 8th December.

This event will be of interest to business people, tourism and leisure, the hospitality and bar sector, public representatives, the arts and crafts sector, boating groups, festival and event organisers and the transport sector.

Among those attending will be leading Derry City Council officials Oonagh McGillion - Director of Development, Claire Lundy - Marketing and PR, and Brendan McMenamin - Visual Arts Organiser who will be joined by Caomhin Corrigan - Culture Broker with Ilex, the regeneration company behind the City of Culture bid.

Karina Doherty - Marketing and Communications Officer with Moville East Inishowen Action Group said it was imperative the peninsula took advantage of this meeting. She added: "The clock is ticking as marketing programmes for the City of Culture events will be finalised next year. The meeting will provide the people of Inishowen with an opportunity to pose questions, exchange ideas and send out a clear message that Inishowen is open for business."
