Local Girl to Launch Charity Christmas Album
'Winter Wonderland,' the stunning new album by Danielle Cavanagh will be launched at a concert on Friday 26th November in Mac's Backroom Bar, McGrory's, Culdaff. The album is a collection of Christmas classics with an added flavour of the musicals. Originally from Carndonagh, Danielle, a graduate of Queen's University, Belfast teaches singing from Carndonagh and from her home in Greencastle.
Danielle began working on the album at the end of September this year in The Cavanagh Brothers' recording studio in Greencastle with her brother-in-law Colm Cavanagh. The album consists of 12 tracks: Silver Bells, Winter Wonderland, Oh Holy Night, Let It Snow, Christmas Lullaby, White Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Silent Night and John Rutter's Angels' Carol; which features over 30 of Danielle's students.
It also contains two of Danielle's favourite musical songs; 'Defying Gravity' from the hit-musical Wicked, and 'Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again' from Phantom of the Opera. The penultimate song on the album is 'The Girl in 14G,' made famous by Kirstin Chenoweth. The contrasting vocal styles in this song add a bit of variety and fun to the album and shows Danielle at her very best.
The concert will showcase a variety of acts and promises to be an enjoyable night of entertainment. Doors open at 7.00pm and the concert starts at 8.00pm sharp. Admission at the door is
€5 for adults. All proceeds on the night and the from the album are in aid of Donegal Hospice.
