Inishowen Beaches Retain Blue Flag Status
Good news for Shroove, Culdaff and Lisfannon beaches as they have
all retained their Blue Flag status. The Blue Flag is one of the
world's most recognised eco-labels.
Seventy-four Irish beaches and two marinas achieved the accolade
countrywide with the awards announced by the Minister for Environment,
Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley.
Each beach must meet a specific set of criteria related to water
quality, environment education and beach management in order to
be awarded the Blue Flag. Bathing water at Blue Flag beaches must
meet the highest standards of bathing quality.
