French television to feature Donegal surfing
Les surfeurs may soon be coming to Donegal in greater numbers thanks
to two high-profile surfing stories coming soon to French media.
In one the French television station Escales is set to broadcast
a feature on Donegal as a surfing destination in the coming weeks.
Escales is a television channel with an emphasis on travel sent
a crew to Donegal in May to film the feature. "This an excellent
marketing opportunity for Donegal," said Joe McHugh - Fine
Gael TD. "This broadcast on French travel TV can only be of
benefit," Deputy McHugh said pointing to some of the county's
top quality surfing beaches in Bundoran, Rossnowlagh, Fanad and
Culdaff.
The Deputy said that he understood that Surf Session, the French
specialist surfing magazine is publishing a six page feature on
Donegal surfing later this year. "These marketing initiatives
will surely attract French watersport enthuasists to Donegal,"
Deputy McHugh said. He said that Donegal offers water sports enthusiasts
a diverse package of pusuits calling the county "a premiere
destination for water based tourism."
