SEPTEMBER 2007

Chef training scholarship

A scholarship, in memory of chef James Kealy of Kealy's Seafood restaurant in Greencastle will be presented at a culinary seminar later this year. It has been named The James Kealy Training Bursary and will be presented on 14th November, at the Chef Training Conference, which has been organised by Inishowen Tourism Accel Hospitality Skills Programme.

The event will be held at An Grianán Hotel, Burt and will look at the chef's role in marketing and sourcing top Irish produce and suppliers.

James kealy died earlier this year following a long illness. He put Greencastle on Ireland's culinary map through his multi award-winning Kealy's Seafood Restaurant. The restaurant reopened at the start of the summer season by his wife and business partner.

Inishowen Tourism chairman, John Henry McLaughlin, and Accel Project chairperson, Ann McGrory, will make the presentation of the bursary jointly.

Anyone who would like to become an event sponsor or have an exhibition stand at the chef seminar can contact 074 9384317 or email accelinishown@googlemail.com
