DECEMBER 2007
Live Crib in Carndonagh
Donegal's only Live Crib takes place in Carndonagh on Sunday, 23rd
December between 6pm - 7pm and it is still not too late to take
part.
A huge number of volunteers are already making preparations for
costumes, stable construction, musical rehearsals etc. Families
with new babies will represent the Holy Family and local personalities
are gearing up to become Wise Men and Shepherds, while children
from all the local national schools will play angels. Many local
musicians and singers have already offered their services but we
would gladly include anyone else who would be interested in participating.
But the organisers are looking for even more community involvement
by asking adults and children to dress up as nativity characters
and join the Lantern Procession which is a new feature this year.
The Live Crib will commence with the procession leading the Holy
Family from the Diamond to the stable which will be located at the
entrance to the Church grounds. To join in, simply come along to
the Diamond at 5.45pm. Please note that children will be the responsibility
of their parents/guardians.
They are also seeking a young lamb to add to the other live animals
which will form part of the scene. Last year, one of the highlights
of the event was the new born lamb which was only a few hours old.
If you can help in any way, please contact any committee member
or ring Ailish at 074 9374938.
