Another successful year for the organisers of the Malin Raft Race 09

The Lough Swilly RNLI and the Irish Coastguard at Greencastle were the beneficiaries of another successful and eventful raft race held in Malin. The organisers of the raft race recently donated €10,000 from the monies raised to both voluntary organisations.

The committee would like to wish a big thanks to everyone who made this years raft race possible. Fundraising events included: a treasure hunt, road races, golf, disco and karaoke night. They woud also like to thank the rafters, hunters, runners, spectators, those that enjoyed the village entertainment on the green, visitors, local entertainers, members of the Irish Coastguard, photographers, Red Cross, members of the RNLI, Gardai, the local press, local parish bulletin, old and new volunteers, ticket sellers, stewarts and bucket collector. In particular they would like to thank all the sponsors for their generosity and kind donations and prizes.

As a result of all the efforts a total sum of €7,000 was donated to The Lough Swilly RNLI and €3,000 was donated to the Irish Coastguard at Greencastle.
