SEPTEMBER 2008
Search for 'Ireland's greatest grandparents
Friends of the elderly are teaming up with Specsavers to search
for the country's best grandparent to celebrate Ireland's second
Grandparent's Day, which occurs on the 28th September. The charity
is now seeking people from the North West to nominate their 'grannys'
and grandas' for the award. All you have to do is tell Friends of
the Elderly in less than 100 words why you believe your grandparent
is the best in the country. Not only will they be given the honour
of being known as 'The Best Grandparent in Ireland', but the winners
will receive a luxury hotel weekend for two.
Friends of the Elderly are also seeking out the fittest grandparent
of the year and are appealing to sports organisations to contact
them with details of their oldest active members.
Please send your nominations to Dermot Kerwin at Friends of the
Elderly, 25 Bolton Street, Dublin or email your nomination to dkirwan@friendsoftheelderly.ie.
The closing date for nominations is Monday 22nd September.
