AUGUST 2008
Phil Mack and the Classics Songs Release
Phil Mack and the Classics release their two original songs today,
15th August. All radio stations will have copies by this date.
Phil Mack's (McLaughlin) roots are in the Culdaff area of Donegal.
Both his parents originate from there. Phil frequently visits Donegal
and Mayo where his wife Bridget is from and where they have a home
in Ballina. For many years Phil played on the London Irish Country
scene with his band the Untouchables.
After a break of a few years Phil reformed with a new band "The
Classics" with Jeff Hacking and George Mendham - both of whom
have enjoyed success with other bands. Jeff, writer of Green White
& Gold is a prolific songwriter who enjoyed international success
in the Sixties with the hit "Concrete & Clay". The
Girl from Donegal was written by Phil.
Phil has a Horse Racing stable, Marlborough House, Newmarket. Horses
currently in training are Phil Mack Dot Com and River Dee both trained
by Amy Waever. River Dee won at Yarmouth on 21st July giving Amy
(Britain's youngest female Trainer) her first win in only her 3rd
race as a trainer.
Phil hopes to visit Moville in the near future and he would like
to thank all those who have sent messages, texts, e-mails of support.
Also thanks to the many who intend to request Phil's records over
the coming months.
