Funding available for Heritage Projects in County Donegal
The Heritage Council is seeking applications from the public for
projects to conserve and enhance our natural, built and cultural
environment. It has allocated almost €3 million of funding
towards eight grant schemes for 2007.
Grants are available under the following categories: Local Heritage,
Wildlife, Publications, Museums and Archives, Architecture Research,
Archaeology, Biodiversity and Buildings at Risk. Anyone can apply
and applications must be submitted to The Heritage Councils by Friday,
3rd November 2006, for all schemes except he Buildings at Risk programme,
which is open until 31st March 2007.
"The Heritage Council Grants Programme is an important and
prestigious source of funding for projects aimed at the preservation,
promotion and enhancement of heritage in County Donegal," said
Joseph Gallagher, County Donegal Heritage Officer.
"In 2006, 15 heritage projects in County Donegal were funded
and, since 1997, Donegal-based heritage projects have benefited
by over €800,000 from Heritage Council funding. The County
Donegal Heritage Office will be pleased to provide advice to applicants",
he added.
