Redcastle Pitch Opening

Saturday, 12th August is a big day for Redcastle as it is the date for the official opening of the football pitch. The day will kick off with an under 12 match, followed by the official opening ceremony shortly after 4pm. This will then be followed by a match between Redcastle and an Inishowen select side. At 7pm with Redcastle Under 14s in action in the last game of the day in a cup semi-final. An action packed day is in store for all who attend.

It is hoped for a good crowd to turn up and show their support and it will also be a good opportunity for players, young and old, to come along and meet up with friends and foes alike.

The hard working members of RCDL are very visible these nights, putting the finishing touches to the pitch and facilities. The new facilities are second to none, and are a great credit to all the members of that committee. They have transformed facilities for the sporting youth of the area and they have helped change the face of Redcastle football for the better. At this time the pitch is being utilised to the absolute limit. It is closed at the moment to allow for some finishing touches to be completed and it will no doubt be looking its best on 12th August. So make sure you come down and join in the atmosphere of the official opening. Let's hope the good weather continues until then.
