Official Opening of Moville Playground

Moville Playground was officially opened on Wednesday, 26th July, 2006, by ten year old Moya Doogan and eight year old Samantha Weir, local school children who won a cross-community competition. The playground which cost €90,000 is one of the 15 playgrounds to be opened this year by both Donegal County Council and the local community throughout the county.

Dr. Catherine Falls Chairperson of the Playground Group said, "The community now owns this safe and fun place to play for all our children", and went on to thank the funders, Peace II and IRDL for making this possible.

Speakers from Peace II, and IRDL, and David Ward of Unique Playgrounds, addressed the crowd who gathered to see their playground open. The Moville Clergy blessed the playground and then Samantha cut the ribbon.

Well done to everyone who was involved in this project, it is a real benefit to Moville and we wish the children many happy times in the future in their new playground.
