Inishowen Men's Helpline

The need for a helpline for men has been acknowledged for some time. People who are involved in Men's Groups throughout Inishowen were brought together in an effort to address this need. A series of meetings was organised and facilitated by Action Inishowen CDP, Millbrae, Carndonagh and we are now about to launch the project.

This free and confidential service will be operational from Wednesday 13th December, 2006 by telephoning 074 9329300. The Telephone Helpline will offer men the opportunity to speak in confidence with trained counsellors/personnel on any issue and will be open initially on a Wednesday evening from 7pm to 9pm and on a Saturday morning from 10am to 12 noon. The phone line will be manned at all times by trained volunteers. In the meantime, new members are welcome and if you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact Margaret on 074 9374529. Training will be organised for new volunteers. This project is supported by the HSE and the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
