MARCH 2010
'Ferry Friendly' Initiative to be launched in Inishowen
A new marketing initiative entitled "Ferry Friendly"
will be launched on 1st April 2010 promoting local Inishowen tourism
business and the Lough Foyle & Lough Swilly ferry services.
The main aim of the campaign is to offer travelling tourists to
the Inishowen peninsula via the Lough Foyle ferry (Magilligan/Greencastle)
and the Lough Swilly ferry (Buncrana/Rathmullan) better value than
before and a greater choice of things to see and do whilst in the
peninsula.
As part of the "Ferry Friendly" scheme passengers will
be entitled to special discounts when they present their ferry ticket
at participating businesses displaying a "Friendly Ferry"
sign. Tickets will be valid for 48 hours after purchased with the
type of discount offered solely on the businesses discretion. Business
taking part include hotels, b&bs, restaurants, tourist attractions
and outdoor pursuits.
In addition to this new initiative a newly designed Inishowen Visitor
Map highlighting a selection of things to see and do in Inishowen
will be erected in over 50 locations throughout the peninsula and
available in simple tear off block pads for tourism businesses to
distribute to visitors this summer.
