Celebrity chef full of praise for local produce at Harry's Restaurant
Acclaimed chef Richard Corrigan made a surprise visit to Harry's
Restaurant in Bridgend recently and was delighted at what he found.
"It was a double take moment when he came through the door,
but he quickly relaxed and was delighted to see so much local produce
such as gurnard straight from Greencastle, our famous dry aged beef
and wild local venison," restaurant manager Donal Doherty said.
Corrigan tucked into a selection of Harry's Inishowen produced pates,
followed by some organic rare breed pork from Jo Fowler's Farm Shop
in Moville. "He agrees with our love of Jo's pork claiming
it to be the nicest lunch he's had in a long time in Ireland."
Donal continued. "We couldn't keep him out of the kitchen afterwards
where he happened to be curing some meats and sorting fish from
Greencastle where he shared a few tips and claimed he could now
see what Donegal could offer Ireland in terms of food."
"We heard from several people over the weekend that he sang
our praises at the opening of Enterprise Week in Letterkenny that
evening, which is great for us, and so many people in Inishowen
that supply us."
