John Colgan Heritage Weekend - Carndonagh

The Colgan Heritage Group is busy putting the finishing touches to an exciting and informative weekend to honour the memory of the famous Carndonagh born friar John Colgan.

Events taking place during a packed programme include a local talent concert, multi-media exhibition, guided walks and workshops on genealogy. There will also be a series of talks and seminars by expert historians including Sean Beattie, Dessie McCallion, Richard Crumlish, Jim Devenney, Paul McKevitt, Seoirse O'Dochartaigh and Franciscan friar Fr. Pat Conlan.

A special edition booklet by Conall Byrne detailing the life and times of John Colgan has been reprinted with the kind permission of the Byrne family. It is available from local newsagents.
