Moville GAA Chairman Reflects on a Memorable Year
Moville GAA Club chairman Con O'Donnell reflected on one of the
most successful seasons ever for the club at the recent AGM held
in the club's premises in Carrick.
In his address he stated that it was fitting that on the 125th anniversary
of the GAA and the 40th anniversary of Scor that the club achieved
so much success. In particular the never forgotten day in September
when both the ladies and mens teams became county champions within
hours of eachother.
The club had 21 players that represented the county at various levels
throughout the year surely one of the highest representations from
any club plus the added bonus that both the Donegal ladies senior
player of the year and the Ulster young player of the year were
both club members that started their playing careers as under10s
training every Saturday.
While reflecting on the past we need to look forward to the year
ahead and build on past successes. The chairman stressed the importance
of the club and it being the cornerstone of the GAA. He encouraged
the members to seek more volunteers to help carry out the many duties
of the modern GAA club.
He went on to say that it should be recognised that our gaelic games,
language and culture have a special place in our community and we
should go forward with pride in what we represent.
