Major Band to Play Moville 2011 BeatlesFest

The Cavernites from Liverpool are to headline this year's BeatlesFest on the Lough which takes place in Moville from June 2nd - 5th next.

The Cavernites are endorsed by the Cavern Club where The Beatles used to play twice a day before they shot to fame. BeatlesFest organiser Gerry McLaughlin said The Cavernites coming to Moville was great news for the festival. The band are due to play live in one of the towns pubs on Friday night and then on the street on Saturday.

Glenn Mitchell of The Cavernites said the band was extremely honoured to be playing this year's BeatlesFest in Moville. In connection with the other members of the band he also commented on the strong links that they all share with Ireland. He said "In a way we will be coming home following our ancestors who travelled to Liverpool decades before us."
