Inishowen Graveyards go online

A number of Inishowen graveyards have been documented on the internet as part of an ambitious new online project. The indepth graveyard index was compiled by Irish Graveyard Surveyors Ltd and the company claims the project will bring a massive historical and genealogical boost to the area.

Data from those buried in Bocan, Cockhill, Desertegney, Drung, Iskaheen and Muff including a picture of every grave and headstone has been uploaded onto the website at www.irishgraveyards.ie. Online users may access information on any person buried in the mentioned graveyards with others in the peninsula set to follow.

It is hoped the new database of information and photographs will prove of great benefit to genealogists and historians.
