MARCH 2011

Go ahead for Moville one-way system

A one-way traffic system is to be adopted in James Street, Moville for a six-month period. If this is successful and approved by locals the plan enforced to help ease traffic conjestion in the town will then be implemented on an ongoing basis.

Motorists in the town will now drive down James Street along the shore path car park and continue beside Montgomery Terrace to enter into the centre of the town again.

The new traffic system follows a request from local Labour Councillor Martin Farren who asked the Council's design team to assess traffic management in the town. Local residents were also able to give their views on the measure.

Councillor Farren said the system was "something which has been needed in the town for some time." He also thanked the people of Moville community for their helpful suggestions. Donegal County Council Roads Engineer Stephen Flynn said the response from the locals had been very good.
