Search on for top amateur photographer

Buncrana Music and Arts Festival in conjunction with iCARE and the Inish Times are inviting all amateur photographers to enter a fantastic competition. Not only will entrants be in with a chance of winning a top prize but they will have their entries published in the Inish Times newspaper.

Speaking at the launch of the digital competition a spokesperson for the festival said it was hoped it would attract interest from all over Inishowen and from all age groups. The spokesperson added: "It is open to anyone regardless of skill within Inishowen. We have some really talented photographers so it's a great opportunity for them to showcase their work. This strategy is about showing Inishowen as a positive forward looking area within Ireland that values the contribution of all its people."

People are invited to submit a photo in any format that captures a unique view of Inishowen-based theme, be it landscape, seascape or abstract etc.. The photograph should attempt to best represent Inishowen's reputation as a picturesque tourism location. Perhaps it may be a view of a well-known tourism setting or a hidden gem that deserves more attention.

Entries should be emailed to donal@buncranamusicfestival.com over the next three weeks and Inish Times readers will vote for their favourite scene and the winning masterpiece will be mounted and framed in 24/24 sized canvas and exhibited at the Aoibheainn Exhibition in The Plaza for the duration of the Music and Arts Festival.
