Inishowen young people are invited to take part in Millennium Forum's Summer School

The Millennium Forum's Summer School, 'Five Fantastic Days in July' will take place from Monday 23rd July to Friday 27th July. Now in its third year, the Summer School is aimed at young people, 16 plus, who want to pursue further studies in drama or who are interested in a career in performance. Drama is the main focus of the school. During the five packed days of the Summer School, the participants are involved in a variety of complimentary experiences ranging from Acting and Casting Workshops, Movement and Physical Theatre, Street Theatre and Technical Theatre.

Young people in Inishowen who wish to pursue a career in drama or the performing arts have been invited to take part in a special event. Because the numbers are limited to twenty, each young performer gets individual attention while at the same time benefiting from the group experience.

Directors and Principal Facilitators, husband and wife team, 'Richard Huw and Janice Laurie, both graduates of the Guildhall School of music and Drama,. Richard is a regular on 'Silent Witness' and 'Holby City' and Janice runs Dramalab, the couple's acting school in London.

The Millennium Forum Summer School gives young actors and performers exactly what they need at a crucial stage in their development" says Anne Craig, Education and Outreach Officer at the Forum and Co-ordinator of the Summer School. "You can see this happening even by the end of the first day. Janice and Richard create such a professional, insightful and non-competitive atmosphere for the young people to work in. Real learning takes place and performances blossom." The school is non-residential. For brochures/application forms and further information please contact Anne Craig at 02871 272776.
