WordFlight
Young People’s Written & Verbal Arts Project

ACE invites young people of all nationalities who are aged between 8 and 17 years to participate in WordFlight.

Entry Rules

1. Entry to WordFlight is FREE.

2. Each entrant may only submit one entry to each genre: short story, poetry, and song, within their own age category.

3. Each entrant to be no younger than eight years or older than seventeen years at time of submitting their entry. Deadline 30th April.

4. Entries to be preferably typed, and to include the name, address, date of birth, and contact telephone number of the entrant.

5. Entries will not be returned.

6. The Literary Panel's decision is final.

7. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winning entries from three age categories 8-10, 11-13, 14-17 years, will be announced on our website in June 2007.

8. Winning entrants shall be notified of their success in writing and shall receive their prizes in September 2007.

9. All entrants, by way of submitting their entries to WordFlight, will be giving their permission to the select publication of their entries by ACE and partners, and their acceptance of the Entry Rules and any other Terms and Conditions that may apply to WordFlight.

10. All Entry Rules and any other Terms & Conditions that may apply to WordFlight are subject to review and change at the sole discretion of ACE.

WordFlight is designed and managed by Artists in Creative Enterprise (ACE)
a collective of experienced and published writers, and artistic directors.

Workshops have been held in schools throughout Donegal, Derry, Fermanagh and Tyrone, as well as in New York, with plans to provide workshops in Manchester and Birmingham. Over 1,400 submissions have been received to date.
