Riverdance comes to Donegal
The worldwide hit show Riverdance is coming to donegal it was revealed
yesterday,Tuesday 7th February. The performances on Thursday 24th
and Friday 25th May will be the first event held in the 18 million
sport and leisure event complex in Letterkenny.
Proceeds will go towards the purchase of a new "Dexa"
scanning facility at the oncology unit in Letterkenny General Hospital.
The event is being organised by former Mary from Dunglow festival
director, Pat Gallagher, who said "I am delighted that Moya
Doherty has given me the opportunity to bring Riverdance home to
Donegal.
Now in its 12th amazing year Riverdance continues to thrill and
entertain audiences around the world. Composed by Bill Whelan, and
produced by Donegal's Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan,
Riverdance opened in 1995 in the Point Theatre, Dublin, and since
then has been experienced live by over 19 million people worldwide.
Tickets priced at €54.50 went on sale yesterday. They may be
purchased in stores from Books & Charts, Dunglow and Music Centes
Letterkenny, Ballybofey and Donegal Town or by telephone on 074

12th February 2007 = The demand for tickets was so great two more
days were added, Saturday 26th May and Sunday 27th May.
