Community for a Clean Estuary Group in Moville Campaign
The Community for a Clean Estuary Group in Moville say they are
delighted at the huge turn out at last Saturday's protest against
a proposed sewerage scheme at Carnagarve.
Speaking following the protest a spokesperson said they were overwhelmed
with the level of support that turned out for their protest. "It
is surely a sad state of affairs when families find it necessary
to leave the comfort of their homes, in atrocious conditions to
protest against the injustice inflicted on them by the decisions
of their elected representatives." the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that a draft copy of the Environmental Impact
Statement (EIS) is due to be presented to the Inishowen elected
representatives for their assessment soon and suggested that this
would be a golden opportunity to lift what he described as "The
injustice initially imposed by the first decision.
"To continue this nightmare is almost a scenario too horrendous
to comprehend". the spokesperson added. He explained that the
protest will continue next Saturday from 2 - 3 pm.
