Photography Awards for two eleven year olds

Two eleven year olds from Scoil Naomh Brid in Muff, Anthony Moyne and Ultan Doherty, took second and third respectively in a photography competition organised by the Central Library in Letterkenny. The overall winner of the contest was 10 year old Ronan McGarvey from Annagry.

The competition, titled 'Clean water - we need it for life, work and play', was to mark the 50th European Union in 2007 and was run in association with An Chomhairle Leabharlanna and The European Commission Representation in Dublin.

Primary school students throughout Ireland were invited to submit photos on this environmental topic to their local Europe Direct Information Centre and first, second and third prize winners were chosen from a number of entries for each region. Laura McNutt and Maureen Kerry (library staff) were delighted at the huge number of entries received in Donegal and prize winners were presented with their awards at a ceremony in the Central Library in Letterkenny last week.
