Donegal Annual Published
The Donegal Annual, edited by Sean Beattie, has been published
with 260 pages. It is packed with a variety of articles on Donegal
History and folklore ranging from Letterkenny's links to the Beatles
to the Civil War in the county.
A number of articles take a look at the ill-fated rebellion of
Sir Cahir O'Doherty, who paid with his life, after taking up arms
following the Flight of the Earls. Áine Ní Dhuibhne
surveys the events that took place in Rathmullan in commemoration
of the historic occasion, with a superb collection of photos. Photos
from the O'Neill family collection in Shane's Castle that have never
been published before, are among a wide range of articles.
Available in bookshops or from Una McGarrigle, Park Hill, Ballyshannon,
the Donegal Annual costs €20 plus €3 postage. Contact
