JUNE 2008
Inishowen Choir to play at Glastonbury Festival
The Inishowen Gospel Choir are heading off to Glastonbury, where
they will appear with Amy Winehouse, Sinead O'Connor and Kings of
Leon at the end of this month.
Before they head off to Glastonbury, the choir will give a live
performance in The Passion Fruit Club, The Tavern, Fahan on Friday
20th June. It has been a monumental year for the choir as they shook
up the Irish music scene with a critically acclaimed performance
with Duke Special at Radio Ulster's all star tribute show to Van
Morrisson - Astral weeks Revisited.
The group have supported the Harlem Gospel Choir and stole the
show at the One World festival and also appeared in France, Poland
and Switzerland. They are planning to record an album as soon as
their busy summer schedule of festivals concludes.
Doors open at 10pm in The Tavern and The Passion Fruit DJs will
be supplying funky alternative sounds and visuals before and after
the Gospel Choir. This is a night you definitely don't want to miss.
