JUNE 2008
Have you any ideas for a radio programme?
Inishowen Community Radio would like members of the Inishowen community
to let them know the kind of shows you would like to hear on the
local station, and you can even get involved in the production process.
The Sound and Vision Scheme is a funding initiative, which began
in 2006 and is run by the Broadcasting commission of Ireland. It
actively encourages the production of new, quality radio and television
programmes on the subjects of Irish heritage and experience.
Inishowen Community Radio has been highly successful in all rounds
of funding so far with programmes such as "Lets Talk Old Times,"
"Knock - The Hill of Mary" and "Ghostly Encounters,"
all being funded by the scheme. The next round opens later this
month and the station would like to invite anyone with an interest
in becoming involved with programmes that may fit the scheme, to
come along to a meeting on Tuesday 17th June at 7pm at the ICR fm
studios in Pound Street, Carndonagh.
More details of the types of programme that can be found on the
website www.bci.ie
and following the link for the Broadcasting Funding Scheme.
Anyone with an idea for a programme or a script for a radio drama
etc. is asked to please get in touch. No previous experience is
necessary as the ICR staff and volunteers are on hand to train and
give help. If you have an idea but cannot make the meeting on the
night, please phone Emma at the station on (074) 9329105 or email
