3rd Annual Sponsored Row

The third Annual Sponsored Row in aid of Self Help Development International is on Saturday 5th July, starting at Prehen at 9am and finishing at Greencastle Harbour. Everyone is welcome to come and join the rowers or go to Greencastle to join in the fun and applaud the rowers as they arrive. The support of this event will help Self Help Development to continue making substantial long term developments in communities in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya and Uganda in Eastern Africa. It gives farmers the seeds to plant crops to feed their families and to share their crops with other families. They are then able to sell any surplus seeds in the market. Self Help Development also helps in getting water supplies to these areas. The Sponsored Walk, which is a cross border event, from Culmore to Redcastle will also be held on Saturday 5th July, and the organisers would like people of all ages to get involved. A bus will be available if you wish to walk part of the way.

The evenings entertainment and refreshments at Quigley's point Community Centre begins at 9pm. Music and dance will be a perfect way to wind up the summer scheme and congratulate the participating rowers and walkers.
