Women's Outreach seeking volunteers
Women's outreach support group is looking for volunteers, full
training will be provided for those interested.
IWO was set up in 1996 and is a rural-based community-led project
responsponding to the issue of domestic violence in Inishowen. The
project is managed by a local voluntary management committee and
operates out of community-development principals, which include
empowering and enabling women by offering support, not advice; solidarity
not charity and providing respect and confidentially.
The services provided by the IWO include: helpline; listening ear;
advocacy; court accompaniment; support group; counselling for women;
counselling for children; awareness raising; training for volunteers;
lobbying for change. Volunteers are the lifeline of Inishowen Women's
Outreach. If you can spare a couple of hours of your time please
call 074 93 73337, Monday-Friday, 10am - 1.30pm. Closing date for
next training is 20th March.
The IWO agm will be held on Wednesday 2nd April at 7.30pm in their
offices in Millbrae, Carndonagh.
