APRIL 2008
Local People wanted for new movie
The filmmakers of 'A Shine of Rainbows' are looking for people
of all ages for a range of roles. Auditions will take place in the
Colgan Hall, Carndonagh on Monday 7th April and Tuesday 8th April
from 10am to 7pm. A film spokesperson said "We need women aged
20 to 70; men aged 40 to 70 and children aged 7 to 12. Several of
the roles will be significant with quite a lot of dialogue and we
want local people for them she added. All roles will be paid.
The film is a British/Canadian/Irish collaboration and is being
co-produced by Canada's Sepia Films in association with Octagon
Films in Bray with the support of the Irish Film Board. The producers
have been working closely with Donegal County Council's cultural
development office in Carndonagh and its area manager Aideen Doherty.
Aideen told last month's Inishowen Electoral Area meeting that about
half the film's budget, around €3m, would be spent in the peninsula.
This includes finding local accommodation for the film crew with
17 two , three and four bedroom rental properties being sourced
for them in the Malin/Carndonagh area.
For an audition appointment please contact Maria during office
hours either Thursday 3rd April or Friday 4th April on 074 73779.
