Children's art winners to officially open new Moville Playground
The winners of a cross-community schools art competition in Moville
have been formally appointed to officially open the town's new playground
next month. The opening will be performed on 26th July by Moya Dougan
(10) from Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail and Samantha Weir (8) from St.
Columb's National School. The winners and runners up were each presented
with Family Passes to Leisureland - donated by Leisureland.
The chairperson of Moville Playground Group, Dr. Catherine Falls,
said "We had a great response from the children to the cross-community
art competition, and we are very proud that our official opening
will be performed by the two winners."
The work at the playground began over a week ago, and it is due
for completion in the next fortnight. "The cross-community
art project was very much a part of the playground project, in creating
a sense of ownership of the new playground amongst children of all
denominations, and creating stronger bonds between their schools,"
said PRO of the playground group, Trish Hegarty.
