A note from the Directors
The Journey for "Siamsa" began last May when the three
directors discussed plans not to bring a standard musical to the
stage but to try something different. We decided on the concept
of mass involvement and moved on from there. It began as a sort
of quest for talent among the student body and we were not disappointed.
In total the cast numbered eighty five on stage with a further 23
working behind the scenes.
When it came to deciding a name we decided on "Siamsa"
as its direct translation from the Irish language is to entertain
a crowd musically and that is in essence what this show is all about.
We have been overwhelmed by the effort and commitment that the
students have made to this show. They have been an absolute joy
to work with they have been positive enthusiastic and grateful from
the first rehearsal up to this point. They are a credit to themselves
their families their college and their community and we are immensely
proud of their efforts and talents.
The management and staff of Moville Community College deserve huge
credit for all of their help in this production. The staff have
as ever been selfless in the time and effort that they have devoted
to buying, making and altering costumes, buying and making props,
making backdrops, supervising students off stage, ticket sales,
making the booklet and a range of other tasks. They are too many
to mention and we are once again extremely grateful for their help
and support. To our back stage crew the students involved in hair
and make up and the transition years we thank you for your help
and in a special way the boys from the Leaving Cert Music class
who set up all of the equipment every day without complaint we are
most grateful.
Finally to our cast it has been a joy from start to finish working
with you. There have been so many laughs along the way that you
have made this production highly entertaining and enjoyable for
us. Thank you for the many trips to the shop and the chippie the
cups of tea and the packets of chocolate fingers. We hope that you
will always look back on this time with fondness and that it has
instilled confidence in yourselves and your ability as performers.

A note from the students
As four 5th year students we always knew there was going to be
a lot of stress and rehearsing for a show of this standard but we
would not have traded all the memories for anything.
After months of rehearsing the cast steadily became like a big
happy family and it has been or favourite thing that we have been
involved with in our six years in Moville Community College and
there has been plenty to enjoy.
On behalf of the cast we would like to say thanks to all the teachers
and staff for helping out but especially to Ms. McGrory, Ms. Gallagher
and Ms. Devenney who have put such a huge time into making this
show.
Ms. McGrory whose love of music is infectious, Mrs.Devenney always
optimistic and bubbly and taught us how to add a touch of drama
to every performance and Ms. Gallagher a "you tube" queen
who taught us how to be "Footloose"!
