Donegal Walking Week
A Chara,
Donegal Walking Week 2009 will take place from the 24th to the
29th May 2009. This year’s programme theme is based on The
Family and we hope to get as many individuals, families, schools
or workplaces as possible to take part in the various events organised
throughout this week.
At this stage we are putting together an ambitious programme of
outdoor events which will kick off with a family walk at the Bluestack
Centre outside Donegal Town. This walk will also provide information
sessions and practical demonstrations on outdoor activities such
as archery, tent pitching, outdoor footwear and clothing and personal
safety.
We also intend to follow up with a programme of guided walks throughout
the week in all areas of the county, and will be inviting families
to participate in a family challenge. We are also going to include
a range of educational workshops on outdoor activities on the environment
and on walking for health.
As a closing event we are having a family fun day at Glenveagh
Castle where we will present one lucky family with a gift voucher
sponsored by Wet n' Wild, Letterkenny for having completed the mystery
challenge!

communities throughout Donegal will again be available to us in
