2009

Seeing the sites in Inishowen gets easier with the launch of the new Inishowen Tourist Bus Trail. Don't forget to stop off at the Moville Emigration Monument, locally known as the 'Fid', that was unveiled on Moville Pier or admire the newly refurbished Drung Chapel as you pass through Quigley's Point. You could also stop for lunch at the new picnic area in the centre of scenic Greencastle village.

2008

Greencastle Sports Hall launches a major fund raising drive over the summer, local poet Martin Hopkins launches his new book and local historian and author Sean Beattie publishes the 'Donegal Annual'. Moville landmark McNamara's Hotel reopened it's doors as the Caiseal Mara Hotel and Bronagh Holmes was awarded Best New Designer in the UK Fashion Awards.

2007

Historically another exciting year in Inishowen when 4000 year old remains were found in an ancient ringfort outside of Buncrana. The Flight of the Earls television series aired on BBC 1 Northern Ireland from January and Moville librarian Gerard Duddy appeals to locals to submit old photos of Moville and Inishowen to local libraries. 2006

Local children throng to the newly opened shore playground on the Green, while basking sharks and whales are spotted in Inishowen waters. The inaugural Joint Search and Rescue competition took place in Greencastle between the Irish Coast Guard and HM Coastguard Northern Ireland.

2005

This year three Inishowen beaches achieved Blue Flag awards while Lough Foyle oyster beds were hit by the discovery of the devastating disease Bonamia. Funding is allocated for sheltered housing at the site of the former convent in Moville and Ruairi Dougal from Moville creates a stir on the Karate circuit across the UK and Ireland.

2004 An exciting year here at out office with the launch in January of the MovilleInishowen.com website. Amongst other news this year a local trio climb Kilimanjaro for the Children in Crossfire Charity; Moville Community College was shortlisted for the Most Sporting School in Ireland competition and local builder Michael Houten headed on a mercy mission to build new houses in Cape Town, South Africa.
