Moville Couple to collect money for Sri Lankan Fisherman
Moville couple John and Martha Steele are collecting money to help
a Sri Lankan fisherman get back on his feet following the Asian Tsunami
Disaster. They have already collected half of the €3000 they
need to buy a 20 foot fiberglass boat complete with outboard engine
and set of nets. The boat will be named Moville Hope.
"It is fitting for someone like myself who earns his living
from the sea and comes from Moville, which has for centuries had
strong connections with fishing", said John.
A poker classic was held in the Log Cabin a couple of weeks ago,
which raised €1660. Other events have been planned in the near
future.
"I am happy to be able to help a fellow fisherman," said
John.
