Moville Fire Station

Mr Batt O'Keeffe, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government announced that Moville is set to get a new fire station.

The announcement by the Minister has been welcomed by locally-based T.D. Cecilia Keaveney. "The existing station in Moville is a one-bay station in poor condition with limited facilities as well as difficult egress for fire appliances to the main road. It responds to a lot of calls per annum and the case for a new station ad now been fully accepted by the Department. The Council's estimated all-in cost for the new fire station will be approx €1 million and this project will be fully funded by the Department of the Environment," said Deputy Keaveney.

The local firemen were delighted with the news and look forward to their new station.
