Valerie Meikle, Adventurer & Author, travelled 1500km in a dug-out canoe on the River Amazon. Valerie will be in Carndonagh Library on Thursday 9th December at 8pm, reading from her book, and showing slides from her travels. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Sounds like a interesting night!

Building Contract signed at Moville Community College
The Chairman of Donegal V.E.C, Cllr. Dermot McLaughlin and Sean O'Longain, C.E.O - V.E.C. were present for what Principal Anthony Doogan called 'a landmark day' in the history of the new college. Read More

AIB cash boost for Greencastle Community Childcare Centre Limited
Gerry Kelly, Allied Irish Banks Better Ireland Fund presented Christian McEleney of Greencastle Community Childcare Ltd, with a cheque for €8000 and the AIB Better Ireland Plaque.

Mercy Mission
Inishowen builder Michael Houten of Culdaff has set off to join a nine day mercy mission to build new houses for the destitute in Imlazamo Township near Cape Town in South Africa. Michael joins a team of 150 Irish volunteers in the township where many live in 9 x 9 houses without water or sanitation. His return to South Africa, where he helped build 25 two bedroomed houses last year, is mainly due to the fantastic financial support he received over the past few months. Michael wishes to thank all Culdaff and Malin communities concerned for their help.

€119.5 million funding for back to school expenses

Wide Welcome for Lottery Funding for Inishowen Groups
News that five Inishowen sporting and community organisations are set to benefit from substantial grants under this year's Sports Capital Programme was widely greeted this month. According to the announcement, Quigley's Point Community Centre Ltd will receive €135,000; Inishowen Football League €100,000; Moville Celtic F.C. €90,000; Redcastle Community Development Ltd €70,000: and Inishowen Sub Agua €15,000.

St Patrick's Day Parade
Moville St. Patrick's Day Parade proved to be one of the biggest and best in years thanks to the Moville Cultural Promotions who worked hard to make the day such an enjoyable family day out. With the good weather, people came from all over Donegal and across on the border. The Foyle Ferry brought a lot of people to Moville for the day. The parade was a great success as usual.

Greencastle Pier Development
Councillor Marian McDonald has welcomed the news of Dermot Ahern T.D. Minister for Communications Marine and Natural Resources that he has approved the advancement of the project to planning stage for the development of Greencastle Pier and it is envisaged that the County Council will commence this to process shortly.

McDonald Welcomes Euro Funding
Councillor Marian McDonald has welcomed grants allocation totalling 16.5 million euro by Pat the Cope Gallagher T.D. Minister of State. The grant will be administered by County Council Task Forces which are responsible for the delivery of three measures under Peace II Programme. The measures receiving funding from these grants will focus on support for projects which benefit both urban and rural local communities and enhance the attractiveness of border areas for visitors and investment. Donegal has received 4,430,000.
