€318m Water and Sewerage Programme for Donegal

Under the plan Inishowen is due to receive well over €30 million to advance the following projects: €1.2m to allow work on Desertegney Water Supply Scheme. Stage 1 - Contract 3 to start this year; €1.1m for Inishowen Sludge Centre and €88m for Moville/Greencastle Sewerage Scheme, works on both to commence in 2005; €4.7m to complete planning for the Buncrana Sewerage Scheme; €107,000 for Ballymacarry Lower Sewerage, €635,000 for Bridgend Sewerage, €127,000 for Newtowncunningham Sewerage and €317,000 for St Johnston Sewerage Treatment - all to be funded under the Services Land Initiative; €2.6m for Lagan Water Supply and €1.6m for Malin Town Sewerage - both funded under the Rural Towns and Villages Initiative. The peninsula is also sure to benefit from the more than €25m set aside to improve water conservation within the county.
