Reminiscence

Reminiscence is a natural everyday occurrence which most people engage in and which seems to become increasingly important as people age. It is something which people may do privately, as they think about past times, or it may be undertaken in the company of others. It may occur spontaneously in the ordinary course of living, or it may be purposely evoked by particular circumstances, or by certain activity or stimuli; for example, marriage, moving home and bereavement.

Here are stories as remembered by some of our Senior Citizens who attend Moville Day Centre. These stories were told with an attitude of acceptance and without complaint. The stories were compiled by Mary Kay Harley, and she very kindly allowed us to place them on our web site.

There are many such stories throughout Donegal, and if you would like to add to this collection get in touch with us, we would be happy to record your memories.
