Swiftly at God's Command
Across the seas tempestuous he came
Into the Celtic land
Now were the sick restored by him, the gospel
Truth was preached on every hand.

Prayer compassed miracles on Tara's hill
And man's inveterate foe
The deadly serpent was expelled. And still
Romantic Shamrock - apt
Impression of the Trinity - is seen:
Choice of the blessed Saint
Keeping his memory for ever green.
