Map of Donegall 1776
Taken from Donegal in Old Photographs by Sean Beattie

Map of Donegal by Bernard Scale, Land Surveyor, dated 1 February 1776. It is taken from An Hibernian Atlas or General Description of the Kingdom of Ireland, which was published by Robert Laurie and J.A.Whittle of 15 Fleet Street, London, in May 1798, as successors to the late Robert Sayer map and print publisher, also of Fleet Street. The map shows the baronies of the county. Following the Local Government Act of 1898, these ceased to exist as administrative units and each county was divided into urban and rural districts. (Beattie collection).
