Introduction
Life in the 19th Century
Donegal County Council seeks to preserve the inheritance of the people
of Donegal for the present and future generations by preserving, acquiring
and making accessible the documented heritage of the County.
Archives are original documents, photographs, maps, plans and recordings
which have historical or evidential value and which must be preserved
permanently. Donegal County Council has some of the finest surviving
local archives in the country.
Public access to the archives is by prior appointment only. A few
days notice is generally required.
