Donegal County Council seeks to preserve the inheritance of the people of Donegal for the present and future generations by preserving, acquiring and making accessible the documented heritage of the County.

Archives are original documents, photographs, maps, plans and recordings which have historical or evidential value and which must be preserved permanently. Donegal County Council has some of the finest surviving local archives in the country.

Public access to the archives is by prior appointment only. A few days notice is generally required.
