Slí na Sláinte

The Shore Path or Slí na Sláinte is a wonderful, scenic walking path that follows the shoreline from Moville town centre all the way to Greencastle. The path is cemented from The Green as far as Lafferty's Lane and this segment is 4.4km long. There is seating along the way so you can rest and enjoy the views and even have a picnic.

The path offers wonderful views across Lough Foyle and you can see south to Culmore, across to Limavady and Magilligan and up to Benone and Bishop's Gate and as far as Portstewart and Portrush.

There are a number of beaches along the way where you can sunbathe, skim the water with stones or paddle. Please be careful if you would like to swim in the Foyle as strong currents are present. The beach at the end of Lafferty's Lane is most often used for having a dip.

The path was developed and is maintained by FAS, the NE Inishowen Tourist and Development Company and Donegal County Council.

Help us to keep the path in a suitable condition by respecting signage and bringing your litter home with you.

The Shorepath is well signposted along the Moville coastline.
