Childhood vaccines Any child born in 2002 or already in school that has not received their preschool booster are now invited to attend their GP for the 4 in 1 Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough and Polio) and MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccines. Flu Flu can affect anyone, but annual vaccination can prevent complications or even save your life If you are 65 or over or a younger person with a chronic disease such as heart disease, asthma problems, diabetes or kidney problems, call Moville Health Centre 9382049/9382408 for an appointment.
   
Set Dancing Set dancing takes place in Rawdon's every Tuesday night at 8.30pm. All welcome, especially beginners.
   
Smoke Alarms The Donegal County Council has received funding to extend a pilot project for the installation of smoke alarms in vulnerable households nationwide. The Donegal County Council has identified three target groups, i.e. older persons, persons with a disability and lone parents. If you fall into any of the above categories and do not have a smoke alarm in your home, please contact Action Inishowen on 074 93 74529 or call into our office in Millbrae, Carndonagh.
   
Is your attic insulated? Action Inishowen is carrying out a survey on the number of houses in the Inishowen Peninsula that have poor or no attic insulation as there may be funding available to assist those on a low income. Libraries On Line Did you know that you don't actually have to contact your local library anymore if you want to request a book or check what items you have on loan. Now you can simply log on to the Donegal County Library website www.donegallibrary.ie using your library card. Members can now log into the web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) and choose from over 170,000 books, videos, DVDs, Cds and books on tape and we will deliver it to your nearest library.
   

Moville Branch Library
Local Historical Archives

Moville Branch Library is collecting items of local historical interest as part of an archive for future generations. This project is intending to acquire, preserve and make accessible to the public documented heritage of Moville and surrounding environs. The items will be housed in the library. To date, Moville Library has secured a collection of old photographs, posters, promotional flyers, postcards, old paper clippings and several back issues of 'The Moville Emigrant.' (The back issues of The Moville Emigrant now in Moville Library are: No's 13, 20/21, 22/23, 24/25, 26,and 27.) The public is welcome to add to this local historical archive. Any overseas contributions are also wanted. The Librarian can have the items photocopied and returned back as received. All source of material will be acknowledged accordingly. The Branch Librarian would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and convey his appreciation to all those individuals who have already generously contributed to this archive. Contact details for anyone who wishes to add to the archive are below. Remember, all items received will be returned. The Old Courthouse Lifford Experience the history and character of one of Ireland's Oldest and Most interesting jails and courthouses. In the 18th Century Lifford Courthouse and jail designed by the Famous architect Michael Priestly, you will learn of the severe punishments meted out and also see at first hand the terrible conditions endured by the unfortunate inmates. You can witness the reenactments of famous trials held in this historic building, including that of Napper Tandy, John "Half Hanged" McNaughten and the Murder of Lord Leitrim. Opening times - Monday to Friday 10am - 4.30pm. Sunday 12.30pm - 4.30pm (Summer only). Last tour 4pm. Open all year. Late opening and Saturday visits arranged on request.
